Savoring the last bits of vacation

My week has consisted of knitting, planning, eating, finishing our save the date, and tying up loose ends. I have been driving around without a license the past couple of months. It's not fun driving around thinking you might get pulled over by a cop, but it's even more not fun if you also know you don't have a license. I thought they were going to have to retake my picture, but no! They were able to just print off my last one which made me very happy. I really liked my last picture because I actually fixed my hair that day and I had a lovely summer tan.

I've been working on an infinity scarf for Craig's sister, and I'm about half way finished. I think I will have enough yarn to make a slouch hat to go with it. She's currently training for a marathon in Paris. She's raising money for cancer research through friends and family. It's so exciting I got the urge to start training for a race again, but that didn't last long. I did it once, and that's good enough for me. I think it would be cool if Craig and I did a 5k together sometime, but no more than that!
Tomorrow, I will be leaving for St. Louis for a doctor's appointment. There will also be lots of errands and hanging out with Rachel and Christie. I'll be staying the night with Rachel and then Saturday morning we'll go dress shopping on Cherokee. Hopefully, I'll find something I like in one of the vintage shops there. If not, I'll be headed to Anthropologie. I'd rather find something a bit more authentic, though.
I've been doing some planning for school, and I feel like I need to be doing A LOT more. However, I really just need to be in my classroom. It's hard when you live 40 minutes from your workplace to just go in everyday of your break. So, I planned for us to do ceramics the first 3-4 weeks we are back. I'm pretty comfortable teaching it, and I know the students will be excited about it. We'll be doing a combination of wheel throwing and handbuilding. My painting class will be doing monochromatic portraits of someone they admire. I'm excited to see what they come up with.
Well, that's the low down. I better get back to knitting so I can get this done and move on to making Craig another earflap hat. He shrunk his and it's a future bambino hat now.
